Detailed Overview

Are you not so fond of walking but still want to explore different remote and unique places around the globe? If yes, then we have the Upper Mustang Overland Tour, where you can drive in a Land Cruiser and drive to different isolated places in the Upper Mustang region of Nepal. It’s an adventurous and lively ride to some enchanting terrain of Nepal.

The drive starts from the capital city of Kathmandu and goes through a scenic route to Pokhara. On the way, you pass through some fabulous views of a countryside landscape, villages, hills, valleys, rivers, and forests. From Pokhara, the drive follows a route to the deepest gorge in the world (Kali Gandaki Gorge) and then to Kagbeni. As you move ahead from Kagbeni, you will notice the change in the atmosphere. The lushness slowly disappears into the dry, waterless, and treeless zone. The drive continues to Charang. At Charang, we stopped our ride and hiked up to Luri Cave. After exploring the cave, we continue our journey toward Lo Manthang, a forbidden Kingdom of Buddhism. At Lo, we can visit Chosar cave and explore Chosar village. We can even hike to Ghar Gompa. After exploring the Lo, we drive towards Chussang and then to Muktinath.

Muktinath is a popular spiritual hub of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. There is a Vishnu temple and a monastery in this place. The 108 waterspouts around the temple make the place look alluring. The temple is not just famous from a religious view but from a scenic perspective as well. The place offers some panoramic views of the mountains in the Annapurna massif. After visiting the temple, the Upper Mustang Overland Tour concludes with a drive back to Kathmandu city via the same route. This tour is an amazing way of escaping long day walks and visiting one of the isolated regions of Nepal. So, are you ready for this wonderful trip? If yes, then World Alpine Treks is here to serve you with all that it needs.

Seamless Adventure to Annapurna Base Camp with World Alpine Trek

Our trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) with World Alpine Trek was beyond amazing. From the moment we booked, Mr. Rabin provided all the info we needed quickly and clearly, which made us feel at ease right away. Everything was organized perfectly, including backup plans for any hiccups.

Mr. Deepak, our guide, was the true highlight. He was calm, professional, and never rushed us. He encouraged us to walk at our own pace, soak in the views, and reminded us that it was our holiday, so no need to stress! Every day, he would tell us when we’d eat, where we’d sleep, and always had a Plan B ready. It was like he knew our concerns before we even voiced them. Plus, the porters Mr. Amrit and Pramote were incredibly friendly and supportive, keeping us going even when the weather turned.

The accommodations were fantastic. In Kathmandu, the hotel was spacious, comfy, and conveniently close to Thamel. On the trail, the lodges were lovely—often with great views (unless it was raining or foggy!). Definitely bring layers, as the weather can change quickly, and good rain gear is a must!

Despite constant rain toward the end and flight delays, we never felt worried. The team handled everything with such ease that we felt completely carefree.

Lastly, big thanks to Dinesh my last EBC guide for introducing us to World Alpine Trek. His recommendation made all the difference, and I can’t recommend this company enough for a memorable ABC trek!

Thank you to everyone at World Alpine Trek, especially to Mr. Deepak, Dinesh, Amrit, Pramote and all the team members. We are James, New Jacky, and Yo, and we truly appreciate the wonderful experience!

Great ABC Trek Experience

My sincere thanks to the team of World Alpine Treks, without their help I would not have been able to complete the ABC trek. The guides and porters were professional, friendly and thoughtful. I was in bad condition due to a cold during the trek, but because of their care and help along the way, I was able to complete the trek safely. Highly recommend World Alpine Treks to anyone thinking of trekking in Nepal.
