World Alpine Treks is a trekking and adventure travel company based in Nayabazar-16, Kathmandu 44600, Nepal.
We started in 2019 and organise journeys across Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan.
Since then, more than 1,500 travellers from over 60 countries have travelled with us.
We are a local company, which means this is not a destination we only know from brochures or online research. Nepal is where we live and work.
From our office in Kathmandu, we plan trips and coordinate the people and services needed to run them. We work with guides, porters, drivers, hotels, teahouses, and local partners across the regions where we operate.
When someone books with us, there is work happening long before the trek begins. We help with planning, arrange the necessary services, prepare the team, and make sure everything is in place for the journey ahead.
And once the trip starts, our work continues.
How It Began
World Alpine Treks was founded in 2019, but the experience behind the company began much earlier.
Our founder, Deepak Dhamala, started working as a trekking guide in 2009.
Over the years, he spent countless days on mountain trails with travellers from different parts of the world. He saw what makes a trip enjoyable, what can go wrong, and how important it is to have the right people around when plans change.
Because mountain travel rarely follows a perfect script.
A flight may be delayed. The weather may change. Someone may need more time to acclimatise. A road may close without warning.
After years of working in Nepal's tourism industry, Deepak started World Alpine Treks with the idea of building a company that travellers could deal with directly and rely on throughout their journey.
That practical experience remains at the heart of how we work.
What We Do
We organise trekking, tours, and adventure travel across Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan.
Our journeys range from well-known treks such as Everest Base Camp, Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, and Mustang to cultural tours, helicopter journeys, peak climbing, and tailor-made trips.
Every journey is different, but the work behind it is similar.
Depending on the trip, we arrange permits, guides, porters, accommodation, transportation, flights, and other services needed along the way.
Our office team handles the planning and coordination. Our guides and local teams manage the journey on the ground.
If something changes during the trip, we work together to deal with it.
We are involved in running the journey from the planning stage through to its completion.
Our Vision
We want World Alpine Treks to grow into a recognised name for Himalayan travel while continuing to remain a company that feels local and personal.
Growth is important to us, but we do not measure success only by how many trips we sell.
We want to build a reputation that comes from doing things properly—organising good journeys, working with good people, and looking after the travellers who trust us with their time and money.
As we grow, we also want to remain connected to the communities and people who make tourism in the Himalayas possible.
Our goal is simple: to build a company that people are happy to travel with and confident to recommend.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make travelling in Nepal and the Himalayas easier for the people who choose to explore them with us.
That means helping travellers understand their options, organising the details properly, and providing local support throughout the journey.
We know that a trip to the Himalayas is often something people have planned for a long time. For some, it is a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
We take that responsibility seriously.
We cannot control the weather or guarantee that every journey will go exactly according to schedule.
What we can do is be prepared, communicate openly, and deal with situations properly when they arise.
That is what we expect from ourselves.
And that is what World Alpine Treks is here to do.
