Detailed Overview

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Group Trek is one of the most beautiful treks to look forward to while in Nepal. It also brings you within close proximity of the 10th-tallest mountain in the world—Annapurna, which is 8,091 meters above sea level.

Annapurna Base Camp Group Trek is fun and enjoyable when done in large groups. You share your life experiences with each other and are jovial as well. Travel is done with World Alpine Treks, which organizes it in such a way that it will only allow 18 people per group.

We agree that most people do the actual trek alone or with their friends, but when they are at the site, everyone feels like they are with family. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is really rich in terms of diversity. It starts from the limit of the temperate belt of the rhododendron bamboo forest to the alpine region and even further.

While doing this trek, there are also some of the familiar starting points for the Annapurna, such as Ghorepani, Poon Hill, Chhomrong, Bamboo, etc.  As they climb up to the height of 4,130 meters, travelers feel joy from the work done and the views of the mountaintop.

What's Makes it Unique:

  • Sharing costs with a group means more affordable trek pricing without compromising on quality.
  • Trek alongside experienced guides and porters who ensure safety, share insights, and make the trek enjoyable and hassle-free.
  • Build lifelong connections with like-minded adventurers as you share the thrill of trekking through the Himalayas together.
  • World Alpine Treks handles all the logistics, from permits to transportation, letting you focus on the journey and the breathtaking views.
  • Trekking with a group enhances safety, ensuring support in case of emergencies and motivation during challenging sections.
  • The group dynamic fosters encouragement, helping you push through tough trails and celebrate milestones collectively.
  • Enjoy shared cultural interactions with local communities, adding depth to your experience of Nepal’s heritage.

Trekking Journey for the Annapurna Base Camp Group Trek

The ABC trek starts with a vehicle ride from Pokhara City to Thikhedhunga, which is the point at which the trek begins. From here, the journey continues through lovely small villages and shocking wave-like rice fields encircled by rich, green hills.

The Annapurna Base Camp Group Trek follows the trail of Ulleri and finally reaches Ghorepani, a stunning village situated on a plateau. The next day, you get up very early, and it is again a day of trekking to Poon Hill, which is the most popular scenic spot for the sunrise view with the Himalayas up to Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. Here is where ‘wow’ moments are experienced, with the golden hour light on snow-clad peaks as the reward for the day's efforts.

From Ghorepani, the track passes through a forest of rhododendrons and bamboo to reach Chhomrong, which is a Gurung village. The trail descends and ascends, crossing some river bridges and forested areas before reaching Dovan through beautiful views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Hiunchuli peaks.

Further on, things change gradually, and here you can see some rocks and alpine meadows instead of forests full of trees. The walk, too, becomes more relaxing as you get into the base camp of the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural bowl surrounded by mountains.

Trekking is a long, enjoyable activity; after several days, you get to Annapurna Base Camp, which is 4130 meters above sea level. From this place, one can get a 360-degree view of the Annapurna massif as well as other mountains of the region like Annapurna 1, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and others.

The stress of the climb and the extraordinary view of the mountains make this moment special. Before descending, it takes some time to capture some photos, relax, and fully enjoy the sights of the Himalayan mountains.

Lifetime journey to annapurna himalaya

My wife and I joined an Annapurna Base Camp trek this October, and it was an incredible experience! Both our tour leader and assistant guide were highly experienced and attentive, ensuring that each member’s needs were met with care. The accommodations in Kathmandu and Pokhara were top-notch, the teahouse was clean and comfortable, and the food arrangements exceeded our expectations. We truly enjoyed every moment immersed in the beauty of the Nepal Himalayas. I highly recommend World Alpine Treks for hiking in Nepal.
