The Kathmandu and Lumbini Tour takes you to some interesting places around Nepal that give you some knowledgeable insights into the art, culture, and history of Nepal, along with some interesting insights into the Hinduism and Buddhism religions. The tour basically concentrates on the UNESCO-listed world heritage sites in Nepal. With these heritage sites, it focuses on Lumbini – the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the light of Asia.

Kathmandu is a center of fine art and culture. Amidst the crowds of the city population, the place still preserves some ancient palaces, complexes, and temples that were built in the medieval period by the Malla kings. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares are the perfect examples. The fine piece of art, woodcrafts, metal works, and stone sculptures are some of the fascinating features of these monuments. Besides, there are many temples in the Kathmandu valley. Wherever you go, you will find a temple or stupa in each corner of the city. Pashupatinath temple, an old temple, is a popular temple amongst the Hindu pilgrims and is listed on the chart of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Similarly, Swayambhunath stupa and Boudhanath stupa are some featured heritage sites in Kathmandu.

Lumbini is a holy place where the pioneer of peace was born. He was none other than the founder of Buddhism and the light of Asia – Lord Buddha. He was a great person who meditated and obtained enlightenment. His teachings are very popular amongst many people to date. Many people followed his footsteps for truth and peace, which led to the formation of a new religion which at present exists as Buddhism. In Lumbini, you can see the footprints of Lord Buddha. There is a place where Buddha was born and a pond where Lord Buddha used to bathe as a kid. Nearby is a Mayadevi temple in tribute to Lord Buddha’s mother. The Ashoka pillar in the premises of Lumbini is a popular part of history. Apart from these, there are many new and artistic monasteries built in the periphery of Lumbini by many other countries. One can have a quality time exploring around the premises of Lumbini.

Seamless Adventure to Annapurna Base Camp with World Alpine Trek

Our trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) with World Alpine Trek was beyond amazing. From the moment we booked, Mr. Rabin provided all the info we needed quickly and clearly, which made us feel at ease right away. Everything was organized perfectly, including backup plans for any hiccups.

Mr. Deepak, our guide, was the true highlight. He was calm, professional, and never rushed us. He encouraged us to walk at our own pace, soak in the views, and reminded us that it was our holiday, so no need to stress! Every day, he would tell us when we’d eat, where we’d sleep, and always had a Plan B ready. It was like he knew our concerns before we even voiced them. Plus, the porters Mr. Amrit and Pramote were incredibly friendly and supportive, keeping us going even when the weather turned.

The accommodations were fantastic. In Kathmandu, the hotel was spacious, comfy, and conveniently close to Thamel. On the trail, the lodges were lovely—often with great views (unless it was raining or foggy!). Definitely bring layers, as the weather can change quickly, and good rain gear is a must!

Despite constant rain toward the end and flight delays, we never felt worried. The team handled everything with such ease that we felt completely carefree.

Lastly, big thanks to Dinesh my last EBC guide for introducing us to World Alpine Trek. His recommendation made all the difference, and I can’t recommend this company enough for a memorable ABC trek!

Thank you to everyone at World Alpine Trek, especially to Mr. Deepak, Dinesh, Amrit, Pramote and all the team members. We are James, New Jacky, and Yo, and we truly appreciate the wonderful experience!

Great ABC Trek Experience

My sincere thanks to the team of World Alpine Treks, without their help I would not have been able to complete the ABC trek. The guides and porters were professional, friendly and thoughtful. I was in bad condition due to a cold during the trek, but because of their care and help along the way, I was able to complete the trek safely. Highly recommend World Alpine Treks to anyone thinking of trekking in Nepal.
