The first day marks your arrival day in Kathmandu. Clear all the visa requirements and customs clearance, if any, at the arrival section of the airport. As you come out, you will find a representative from World Alpine Treks waiting for you holding a board with your name. You will then be transferred to your hotel at Kathmandu. The representative will shortly inform you about the plans ahead.
The second day is a day tour just to warm up prior to your trekking journey. Kathmandu is a city enriched with artistic palaces, beautiful monuments, ancient temples, and other constructions of historical and cultural importance. No wonder the city has seven out of ten UNESCO listed world heritage sites. Today, you will be guided to the UNESCO listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. These heritages are perfect examples of rich history, exceptional culture, and architectural treasures of Nepal. At first, you will be taken to KathmanduDurbar Square. The art, crafts, and carvings in the palaces, temples, and other monuments of the durbar square are excellent. The durbar square is a vast complex that comprises of palaces, courtyards, and temples. It is now a museum that treasures some valuable items of Nepalese history and monarchy in Nepal. From the durbar square, you will be escorted to Swayambhunath stupa (Monkey temple), Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa respectively. After exploring the durbar square, we drive pass the beautiful scenic path to a beautiful hill station near Kathmandu i.e. Nagarkot. We wake up early to catch the sunrise from the view tower in Nagarkot. We walk from our hotel room to view the tower early in the morning, right before the sunrise. It’s truly an amazing view to watch the sunrise amidst the panorama of mountains. On a clear day, we can see the vistas of mountains distinctly around us. After catching the glorious views of sunrise and mountains, we return back to our hotel for breakfast. We explore the periphery area for a while and drive back to Kathmandu.

You will be escorted to some wonderful places like Sera Monastery, Norbulingka palace, Jokhang temple, and Bakor street. Sera monastery is a large monastery that shelters many monks following Buddhism and its teachings. Norbulingka Palace is a grand summer palace of Dalai Lama that dominates the entire Lhasa city. In Lhasa, we have so many places to explore. Today, we visit the Potala palace and Drepung monastery. Potala Palace is a grand palace of the Dalai Lama that dominates the entire Lhasa city. The red and whitewashed walls of the castle are distinctly visible from far away. Built-in the 14th century, the Drepung monastery was once the largest monastery in the entire world. It’s an interesting day in Bhutan, where we explore major cities like Thimpu and Bhutan. Today, we roam around the important places in Thimpu and Paro city. We visit Taschicchodzong, which is a beautiful fortress and monastery that was built in the medieval period. Similarly, we visit the national library, the traditional school of Arts and Crafts, taxtile and heritage museum, handicrafts emporium, etc. last but not the least. We also visit the Memorial Chorten in Thimpu, which was built in the memory of the Third King of Bhutan. He is also regarded as the father of Modern Bhutan. Early in the morning, we hike to a popular monastery in Paro i.e., Tiger’s nest monastery. It is an alluring attraction of Paro city placed on the edge of the steep cliff. It is popular for its dramatic location and a Buddhist myth. As per the mythology, the monastery lies in the same place where Guru Rinpoche had fled on a back of a tigress to meditate on a cave. Today, we walk up to the monastery and explore the monastery and its peripheral areas. Tonight, back to the hotel in Paro.
