The first day marks your arrival day in Kathmandu. Clear all the visa requirements and customs clearance if any at the arrival section of the airport. As you come out, you will find a representative from World Alpine Treks waiting for you holding a board with your name. You will then be transferred to your hotel at Kathmandu. The representative will shortly inform you about the plans ahead.
The second day is a day tour to warm-up prior to your trekking journey. Kathmandu is a city enriched with artistic palaces, beautiful monuments, ancient temples and other constructions of historical and cultural importance. No wonder, the city has seven out of ten UNESCO listed world heritage sites. Today, you will be guided to the UNESCO listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. These heritages are perfect examples of rich history, refined culture and architectural treasures of Nepal. At first, you will be taken to Kathmandu Durbar Square. The art, crafts and carvings in the palaces, temples and other monuments of the durbar square are excellent. After that, you will be escorted to Swayambhunath stupa (Monkey temple), Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa respectively. (Inclusive of breakfast)
Early in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the domestic terminal of Tribhuwan International Airport to catch a flight to Phaphlu. Upon arrival, we initiate our trek from the foothills of Himalayas and walk deep into the Solu region. The walk is very entrancing with stunning views of terraced hills, Sherpa villages, farmlands and majestic mountains. We follow a trail to Chayalsa. On the way, we can visit a local market and local monasteries. Tonight, at a guesthouse in Chayalsa (Inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Leaving Chayalsa, we continue through the trail to Kerung. On the way, we pass various Tamang, Sherpa and Magar villages. The walk, in a way is an opportunity to interact with locals and get some insights on their unique culture, custom and tradition. Moreover, the astonishing views of mountains and Himalayan landscapes will keep you engaged. Today, you are also traversing to the place under influence of Tibetan Buddhist culture. You can expect to visit some monasteries on the way today. Tonight, at a guesthouse in Kerung (Inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner)
From Kerung, we follow a trail that will lead us to Jhapre. Its around six hours walk along a scenic route to Jhapre. We traverse through the wonderful forests of wild orchids and rhododendron along the Solu Okhaldhunga to Jhapre. Even today, you will come across different Buddhist stupa and monasteries. Upon arrival, you will be halt at a guesthouse in Jhapre where you will be entertained with a cultural performance. The cultural songs and dances are worth watching. We start our day with a pleasing view of sunrise amidst the mountains. After sunrise view, we enjoy our breakfast at the hotel and start ascending up gradually along the lush forests of rhododendron and pine to Bulbule. From Bulbule, we walk uphill for around one hour which is followed by a gentle walk to the village of Lamachaya. Leaving, the village, we continue uphill until we open up to Pikey base camp. There is only countable number of households in the base camp. A cheese factory along the way is an interesting place to visit. We reach the base camp by the evening. We can enjoy some glorious views of sunset over the mountains of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Annapurna Himal from the base camp. Today is the most beautiful day of our entire trekking journey. We wake up with the views of picturesque mountains and grasslands all around. Early in the morning, we climb up the Pikey peak which is a challenging part of our journey. From the top, we will be able to witness some astounding views of mountains. After enjoying the views of mountains from top, we drop down with wonderful views of Himalayan landscapes on sight. We can see yak grazing in the vast meadows along the trail. If interested, you can taste the pure yak milk here. We continue through the trail until we reach Jase Bhanjyang, which is our destination for the day. We can relish the wonderful views of Everest and other surrounding peaks in the morning. After breakfast, we leave Jase Bhanjyang and drop down to the Junbesi valley. It’s a wonderful walk along the pristine environment to Junbesi. We walk for around eight hours today. It’s the longest walking day but a memorable one as we will be walking through the old Everest trail. We wrap up our day with a delicious dinner at our guesthouse in Junbesi. We wake up with a positive aura within the pristine environment at Junbesi. In the morning, we explore the village and visit Thuptenchholing monastery. We even observe a unique Tibetan medicinal therapy at the village. After that we drop down through the trail to Phalpu. It’s around six hours walk down the forests and Sherpa villages. Tonight at a guesthouse in Phaplu (Inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Early in the morning, we catch a flight from the Phaplu airport to the capital city of Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check into the hotel and you can enjoy rest of the time on your own. Tonight at a hotel in Kathmandu (Inclusive of breakfast)
Before few hours of your scheduled flight, you will be transferred to the international terminal of Tribhuwan International airport. (Inclusive of Breakfast)
