A short drive from Pokhara city takes us to Nayapul, the starting point of our trekking journey. The journey continues via Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani – Tadapani – Jhinudanda – Landruk – Ghandruk – Nayapul. On the route, we pass beautiful villages, farmlands, forests, waterfalls, hot springs, etc., with mesmerizing views of the Annapurna ranges on sight. Itinerary for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

 

Day 01: Arrived in Kathmandu

It is the day when you arrive in Kathmandu. A representative from World Alpine Trek will pick you up and transfer you to a luxurious three-star category hotel in Kathmandu.

 

Day 02: Sightseeing UNESCO-listed world heritage sites at Kathmandu

Today, you will get a chance to explore some heritage sites around the Kathmandu Valley. Seven out of ten UNESCO-listed world heritage sites are in Kathmandu, amongst which you will be able to explore a few today. The magnificence of art, culture, and history can be seen in the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa are the other places you can explore.

 

Day 03: 7-hour Drive to Pokhara

Your destination for the day is – Pokhara, one of Nepal's most cherished touristic destinations. We take an early touristic bus to Pokhara on the third day of the trip. The bus follows the Prithvi highway and goes along a scenic route to Pokhara. You will be driven along the countryside landscape with stunning views of rivers, hills, forests, and villages. You will arrive in Pokhara in around seven hours. In the evening, you can walk along the pleasing lakeside area.

 

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and Start Trekking to Tikhedhunga

Tighten your hiking boots cause today; you will be on your march toward Tikhedhunga. A very short drive of around an hour will take you to Nayapul. It is the starting point of the trek. Your walk for the day is a short and easy walk through the well-paved path. The route is quite scenic, with lushness all around. The villages of Lumle and Birenthati are alluring, with amazing views of rivers, shops, lodges, and local houses. At Birenthati, you can see the confluence of two rivers, namely the Burundi River and the Modi River. From here, you can hike up and pass Hele to Tikhedhunga.

 

Day 5: Walking into Ghorepani offers some marvelous views of the mountains

We climb up steeply from Tikhedhunga to Ulleri, a densely populated Magar village in that region. From Ulleri, your trail ascends up all the way through rhododendron and oak forests. With beautiful views of nature on sight, a gradual climb up from Ulleri will take you to Ghorepani via Banthanti and Nangethanti. Ghorepani is a popular destination in the Annapurna region. If you have researched this region before your trip, you must be well aware of this place. It is a village that offers some marvelous views of mountains in the Annapurna region, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Hiunchuli, and many other neighboring peaks.

 

6th Day: Hike to Poon Hill viewpoint and Trek to Tadapani

Early in the morning, you wake up for the mesmerizing views of the sunrise amidst the mountains in the Annapurna region. Poon Hill is a popular vantage point where you can get clear, close views of the mountains in the Annapurna region. It is the best day of the trip, where you can get a relaxing vibe by viewing glorious sunrise amidst the snow-clad mountains of Annapurna massif in a peaceful environment. After this beautiful experience, you return back to Ghorepani and walk towards Tadapani. On the way, you pass beautiful forests of oak and rhododendron with views of the Himalayas on sight.

 

Day 7 of the Trek – Back to Pokhara via Beautiful Gurung village Ghandruk

Today, you descend down all the way down to Pokhara city via Ghandruk. Ghandruk is also a beautiful Gurung village that is known for the spectacular views of mountains and lushness of the Annapurna region. Ghandruk village, inhabited by people of the Gurung community, is the best place to get some insight into local people, their culture, custom, and lifestyle.

 

Day 8: Drive back to Kathmandu

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek itinerary concludes on the eighth day of the trip, where you return from Pokhara to Kathmandu. You return back via the same scenic path along the Prithvi highway to Kathmandu.

 

Last day of the trip – Departure
